Three Golds

Close up of folio 2v, after all the gold was applied. The section contains gold leaf on gesso, shell gold, and a modern gold pigment in gum arabic--Maimeri Deep Gold in a gum solution I made of gum arabic, honey, water. I wanted to see for myself the contrast between the three types of gold, and no picture can do justice to the contrast.
