The picture doesn't really do the colors justice. Technically, Teapots don't arrive in England until the 17th c. V&A Access to Images shows a Chinese teapot of 1627 (museum # C.16&A-1968) that is similar in shape to this pot, and a Chinese ewer of aproximately 2nd Quarter 16th C. decorated with what is clearly European arms (museum # C.222-1931), so I'm just going to pretend that this teapot is possible in period. Because it's beautiful, and I need something in which I may seeth my herbs in the still room. ;-) I commissioned this from Hearthstone Arts. |
